October Highlights

I don’t know about you, but the month of October has flown by for me. I can’t believe it’s October 31st already. To mark the end of the month, here are some blog highlights from the past 31 days and my goals for November.

Number of Blog Posts: 19

Most Viewed Blog Post: Mean Girls Gets Political” (36 views)

Favorite Blog Post

Although I really enjoyed writing all of my posts this month, the one that stands out the most for me is “Why I’m Proud to be #TempleMade,” which I wrote after experiencing my first Homecoming as an alumni. This post allowed me to give my take on Temple’s latest marketing campaign while expressing my personal pride in my alma mater. As I wrote this post, I realized that I had more love and admiration for Temple University than I knew. Now that I am beginning to pay back thousands of dollars in student loans, it makes me feel good to know in my heart that I made the right decision by choosing Temple. “Why I’m Proud to be #TempleMade” also resulted in a lot of love for my blog after the post was shared by several alumni and two major Twitter accounts connected to Temple University (@TempleUniv – 16,000+ followers & @TempleAlumni – 1,300+ followers).

October Goals vs. Accomplishments

  • Average at least 18 views per day – At this point I am averaging 17 views a day. While I did not reach my goal for October, I am happy with the progress I’m making.
  • Reach 1,200 total website views – I surpassed this mark with about a week left in the month. As of this morning, I had 1,260 total website views.
  • Write posts that will spark more comments and conversation – This month, I had three comments on my various posts and 45+ “likes”. I also noticed that more people were interacting with me on Twitter to discuss my posts.
  • Increase my number of posts to at least 20 for the month – I just missed this goal, with 19 posts during the month of October (not including this one).

November Goals

  • Average 18 views per day
  • Increase total website views to 1,750
  • Post at least 18 times (November will be a busy month a work, so I want this goal to be realistic)
  • Incorporate more posts about my life, not just current events and PR
  • Decide on a title for my blog (I’m sick of seeing “Lauren Cox” when I look at my site)
  • Upload documents from my portfolio

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!
